Persimmon Terms of Use
These terms are the agreement between you and Stellarium Enterprises LLC ("we") for the Persimmon app. By installing or using the app you accept them. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; where the two differ, these terms govern.
1. The app and your license
We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, under the App Store's rules. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell it.
2. Free trial
New installs get a 30-day free trial that covers every feature except AI syllabus reading. The trial starts the first time the app opens and is tied to your iCloud account, so reinstalling or adding a device does not restart it. One trial per iCloud account. When the trial ends, the app shows a subscription screen; nothing you added is deleted, and it is all there again the moment you subscribe.
3. Subscription
Persimmon is offered as a monthly auto-renewing subscription sold through the App Store. The price is shown in the app and in the App Store before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; the renewal is charged within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store policy.
4. AI syllabus reading
Subscribers can send syllabus PDFs to be read by an AI model (Claude, run by Anthropic) and get a draft schedule back. This feature:
- is limited to 10 reads per calendar month, where each PDF counts as one read; unused reads do not carry over;
- requires iOS 27, iPadOS 27 or macOS 27 or later;
- sends only the files you pick, only when you press read, as described in the Privacy Policy;
- produces a best-effort draft. Dates, times, rooms and requirements can be wrong or missing. You confirm each item before it is added, and you are responsible for checking it against the syllabus and your school's own systems.
5. Your content
Your notes, files and schedule are yours. We claim no rights in them. You are responsible for having the right to use any syllabus or document you import.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use the app to break the law, to interfere with the service, or to send content you have no right to send. Do not attempt to circumvent the trial, the subscription or the read limit.
7. No affiliation
Persimmon is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any university, nor by Instructure (Canvas), Microsoft, Apple or Anthropic. Their names are used only to describe compatibility.
8. Changes and termination
We may update the app, these terms or the subscription's features. Material changes are posted here with a new effective date before they apply, and price changes are handled through the App Store with notice. You may stop using the app at any time; your data stays in your iCloud and on your devices. We may suspend access for a serious breach of these terms.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Schedules, deadlines and AI output are aids, not guarantees; we are not responsible for a missed deadline or an incorrect date.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stellarium Enterprises LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from the app, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the subscription in the twelve months before the claim.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute is brought in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
